So excited for you!!!! Can't wait to see some photos.

I'm looking for a new camera. What made you choose this one from the Nikon lineup?

Annie, it's so good to hear from you! I've missed seeing your work on Flickr, combined with the awesome quotes you always put with them.

Concerning the 800, we felt this would be the last major upgrade we would be doing with cameras and we wanted to go with a full frame. I'll have to confess the 36mp on the D800 was a major factor, plus just all the rave reviews and photo previews. Gary researched cameras for months before making the decision. In our price range, it came down to the D700 or the D800. Our son has a 700 and loves it. But we felt there were more advancements in technology and construction and auto focus and mega-pixels with the 800.

We spent the afternoon yesterday experimenting and we feel we are going to be delighted with this camera. One thing I love is that I should be able to crop smaller portions out of some of my pictures and have better resolution than I had on the D5000.

I just glanced at some of the pictures on your photography blog. Wow. Your work is incredible. What kind of camera are you using?

Thanks again for your visit.

Frances...I'm always around! I get the feed to your blog, so I keep up. And I have been really busy trying to get my photography business off the ground. I like the photography part. Not the business part.

I'm using the Nikon D40. Still. But I love it! It's getting old, so I'm in the market for a new, making the D40 my 2nd camera. And this week I won Pioneer Woman's "Love" contest, so I have a gift certificate coming for B&H!!!!! Now I'm studying the cameras. I want something that will work with all my old lenses. So I'm looking...

I'm anxiously awaiting your photos with this super stud of a camera!!!
